Meal cooling

The objective of this process is to reduce the temperature of the crumbled cake at the exit of the press to improve grinding efficiency. This ensures storage quality and, thus, the meal is kept in proper storage conditions, avoiding self-combustion and the proliferation of germs. Air is used to absorb the heat energy from the crumbled cake or the meal. Depending on the final temperature required, ambient air or pre-cooled air is used. There are different types of coolers and the equipment requires a powder separation system after the contact of the meal with the air. The inlet air cooler is complementary and required if the objective is a meal temperature similar or lower than ambient air temperature.
